How to Use Embellishments in ScrapbookingHow to Add Buttons to Scrapbooks

Hi this is Stephanie and now I am going to
talk about using buttons as embellishments on your scrapbooking page. Buttons are one
of my favorite. A lot of people think you can only use them on sewing types of pages
but I just think that they are a fun way to add color and just visual interest. They make
special buttons for scrapbooking that are very thin so that they don't add a lot of
flump and bumps to your page.

You can still use regular buttons but as you can see they
are just a little bit thinner, if you are going to use the scrapbooking buttons. You
can find fun buttons in different like little themes. Also sometimes a button will come
with a little shank on the back and you just need to get a wire cutter and just trim them
right off, they snap right off. Another fun way, fun kind of button are clear buttons.
These are great because you can just pick a pattern paper and put it behind it and then
it will catch that color and be the embellishment that you are looking for, so you can use any
color that you want.

For example in this page it becomes a very important part of the page.
It is a focal point and it matches all the different colors that I am using and I am
using that clear button and it calls attention right where I want it to be. Like I said buttons
are just a good way to add color. I mean I. Didn't have these colors in but it just brightens
up the page if I didn't have them it wouldn't work as well and I could just put them right
on the page.

You use glue dots which are these. You just take a button and rub it on the glue
dot on the back and it will stick however you want it to be. And that is basically buttons..

How to Do Scrapbooking with Non-Traditional ItemsUsing Fabrics in Scrapbooking

Hi! This is Stephanie. I'm going to talk about
adding fabrics to your scrap book pages. You can go to any kind of sewing store. If you've
been a quilter, you may have some of these things laying around.

You can even use pieces
of shirts or things like this. The cool thing about fabrics is they're thin enough like
a paper. They come in so many different colors and patterns. You can also add a neat look
just by pulling a string on the edge, and it sort of frays it and gives it a different
look.

You can get samples. This happens to be a sample for curtains that I was able to
get for free. It's going to be neat to use for a mat for a photo or just to enhance the
page. Corduroy gives a neat textured look, so you can use that.

It'll be neat on a western
or cowboy kind of page if you have your little boy dressed up as a cowboy. Burlap is fun.
It comes in many different colors and it's nice to fray. I use burlap in this page because
it had an autumn feel to it. It kind of gives that kind of feel.

I just use little squares
of it. I also use just regular material here. I found some pumpkin material that went good
with my theme. This is a strip of leather that I found with sewing on it.

As you can
see, it doesn't add a lot of weight to your page, but it adds a neat depth and just really
gives a neat visual look. Rage your fabric stores. Rage your closets and I'm sure you'll
find some fabrics to use on your pages..
